What we need to know to provide a quote

The cost of scanning is very much based on the complexity of the object and the number of scans we may need to take to get a complete 3D model. We also take into account the type of post processing you require. The simplest surface description for scan data is a dense, unordered polygonal mesh, such as .stl, .obj, .ply

If you require light weight ordered polymeshes or SUBD surfaces, with UV color and/or displacement maps, the cost would usually be higher.

In order to assist us in providing you with an accurate quotation, we need the following information.

A digital image of the object with dimensions is ideal.

The fastest way to get an image to us is by emailing it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

For head scans we need to know if you simply require a skull cap or does the hair need to be scanned. If so, what is the talent's hair colour, length of hair and hair style.
For full body scans we need to know if the talent will be scanned in a leotard or similar. If clothing is being worn, we need to see a digital image of the clothing to supply an accurate quotation.

Post processing requirements.

Indicate if you want ordered polymeshes or iges surfaces. For SUBD's you could let us know  where you want the edge loops (a diagram sketch is ideal). Be sure to mention to us any other special post processing needs.

Timing.

What's your deadline? We can put previous bookings aside for your emergency scan. However, emergency turn arounds may attract a short notice fee. This will normally apply to bookings for full body or head scans made with less than 48 hours notice.

Let us know if you'll be sending your object to be scanned or if you require on-site scanning.
